I had seen Sid as a young dog and loved his strength and hardness. He was such a handsome and substantial Border Collie. I had mentioned to his owner, Audrey Kassel, that if she ever wanted to place him to let me know. I saw great potential in Sid, and knew he would be the dog for me. And to my good fortune Audrey brought him to me in 2004. He was needed to replace my great, old boy, Rue, as the Head Stock Handler.
Sid has been everything I hoped for. He has the presence and power to move anything, the common sense to make it look easy, and the speed to get it done fast! He is a great school dog, and many of my students have had fun working him. He helps set sheep for all of our trials; never complaining working all day - heat or rain. He can teach even the greenest of handlers exactly how things should run on trial days.
Although Sid has never done any competing he is invaluable to me as a working dog. THANK YOU Audrey for letting him come work for me.
